extract.best provides an online, browser-accessible file compression and archive extraction utility. We allow users to unpack archives (ZIP, 7Z, TAR, GZ, TGZ) and generate compressed archives. The service is provided free of charge for lawful, personal, and business use.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to misuse the Service. Specifically, you may not:

  • Process malicious payloads, viruses, worms, ransomware, Trojan horses, or corrupted zip bombs designed to disrupt our infrastructure.
  • Process or transmit materials that violate intellectual property rights, copyrights, or applicable regional laws.
  • Attempt path traversal, Zip Slip exploits, unauthorized API scraping, or denial-of-service (DoS) attacks against our infrastructure.
  • Circumvent rate limits, file size caps (500 MB maximum), or security filters.

4. Data Ownership & Client-Side Processing

You retain 100% intellectual property and legal ownership over all files you process. We do not claim any ownership rights over your files. All extraction and compression is performed entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your files are never transmitted to our servers and exist only in temporary browser memory, which is released when you close or refresh the page.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that archive extraction will always be error-free or uninterrupted.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, extract.best and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business interruption arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
